HOLY LAND

“The LORD will possess Judah as His portion in the holy land,
and will again choose Jerusalem.”
– Zechariah 2:12

HOLY LAND – JERUSALEM

What makes any place “holy?”

There may be many reasons; perhaps it is some holy person’s birthplace; perhaps it was consecrated with a holy person’s blood; perhaps it is the site of a miracle….What we commonly call The Holy Land is all of these and immeasurably more, because the Holy Person who was born there, who shed his blood, who performed countless miracles, is Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Inside the Vatican Pilgrimages is privileged to offer pilgrimages to this land where Jesus, on his triumphal entry into its capital, Jerusalem, said “the very stones would cry out” if his disciples had not shouted their Hosannas before Him.

It is a land where the pilgrim is met with one astounding shrine after another, sites commemorating seemingly every recorded event in the life of Christ and those close to Him during His life, and especially His mother Mary.

It is a wonder and a blessing for every Christian who steps foot on the sacred ground that was once trod by the Lord.

At Inside the Vatican Pilgrimages, we value and promote encounter as a hallmark of our spiritual journeys, but no place can one encounter the Jesus of history, the Jesus who preached and fed the crowds and wept and suffered, as one can in his “home country.”

Dr. Moynihan and Father Ilya, our new friend , new partner, and expert on Jordan and Israel, will lead you on a journey of a lifetime.

“A pilgrimage to the Holy Land is a special time of spiritual journey for Christians. It is a time when we recommit ourselves to living a Christian life as a life of pilgrimage. For many American Catholics, going on pilgrimage to the Holy Land is an especially appropriate way to come to know the land where Jesus was born, where he preached and healed, suffered, died and rose again.”
